The Dunlop era Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face guitar effects pedal demo. A comparison between the earlier version, which read DALLAS ARBITER ENGLAND, but still distributed by Dunlop, versus the current Red version. I used a Les Paul Historic 59, and a Fender blues junior for the demo.

I might have to get on that then. That, or a deluxe reverb. I’m starting to venture out of the blues genre and more into a jam rock/fusion/funk/latin/slightly jazzy/reggae/bluesey genre, so I’m thinking the Deluxe reverb, but I still want a blues junior too. I can’t decide haha
I prefer the new one in this shootout, I really wish the made these a lot smaller so they could fit on a pedalboard easily…
OH YEAH!
I like them both but I slightly prefer the old one…it sounds a little bit rounder than the new model
When you have both the pedals running it sounds insane, love it!!!!
love the old one better
they do, search mxr classic fuzz
Hey, GMD. You should Do a Demo Video of A Fuzz Face with a Vox Wah pedal. It gives A killer Tone!
I prefer the older one.
check out the sunface from analogman
fuzz meltdown!!!! fuzz plus fuzz =destruction
They both sound sweet, the Arbiter has the edge in my opinion.
I think the new one does it for me. Brings out the mids a little more.
How about maybe a dave fox fuzz face next to a dunlop; that would be a awesome battle.
Just Rock, Ass fuzz
I like the older one better….. But, I would prefer both of them together.
i can’t believe i am gonna say this.. i like the new one better : (
Are they bouth Germanium??? I know the curent one is.
yea, the NKT resistors he pointed out in the beginning are of the same type – good ol’ germanium fuzz
the newer one is just a little more gnarly at full volume, but I was surprised when they sounded very close with the volume rolled back
they were not doing any jimi hendrix signature when he was alive.
Dunlop to me sounds better. but then again Dunlop has reproduce the 1966/67 and the hendrix signature fuzz face 1970 to the exact spec’s
I like both of them!
I agree with guitarista1988, the new is better. Neither of them are my favs tho, sorrry Dnlop. I like the Z Vex fuzz factory and the MXR Classic fuzz and the mi audio neo and gi fuzzes
does the silicon circuit board (not transistor) contribute anything to the actual sound of the pedal?
the circuit board could be made out of cardboard, it’s an insulator so i’t cant affect the sound – could affect the durability, though.
